JOB SUMMARY:  The Director of Physician Practices will demonstrate the knowledge, responsibility and accountability for oversight of Physician Practices assigned.   The director is responsible for strategic planning, budget preparation and execution. She/he will provide liaison services to the Medical staff, nursing staff, and other hospital staff, and serve as a change agent and consultant who collaborate with other department leaders and care givers to continually refine the patient care delivery.  Responsible for planning and managing the human, material, equipment and fiscal resources for areas of responsibility and accountable for developing action plans to contribute to the organization's ability to carry out its mission and accomplish annual pillar goals.

REPORTS TO:  Vice President, Provider Services

SUPERVISES:  Titles of direct reports – Practice Manager

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor of Science degree required, Master's degree preferred.  Five years of supervisory experience in a physician office practice or hospital setting with progressive leadership required.  Leadership skills essential. 

SPECIAL SKILLS:  Demonstrated skills in making decisions with independent judgment and the ability to work effectively with a variety of board, managerial and professional personnel.  Must have excellent understanding of Physician Practices in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.  Must be able to work comfortably with physicians and physician groups. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Light to medium carrying up to 50 lbs., straight pulling/pushing, reaching in all directions, stooping, walking long distances, standing, sitting, repetitive motion/finger activity for sustained periods of time, speaking, hearing, moderate phone contact, visual activity; long periods of working on computer

WORKING Environment:  A busy, often times stressful, ambulatory facility providing direct patient care, considerable amount of direct patient/customer contact.

Based in Lewiston, the Provider Enrollment Team supports three hospitals in the Covenant Health System (Lewiston, Bangor, and Nashua, NH).  The Provider Enrollment Specialist is responsible for coordinating, processing, tracking, and maintaining all enrollments with the third-party payors for Covenant Health.  This position is an integral part of the Provider Enrollment Team whose function is to facilitate a seamless enrollment experience by reviewing and analyzing applications operations, enrollment processes, and continued growth and development for the Covenant Hospitals. The Provider Enrollment Specialist serves as the primary contact and resource for assigned providers for both internal customers as well as third-party payors. The Provider Enrollment Specialist works with and communicates directly with the providers. Additional job duties include working with our EMR hosting organization to maintain billing exceptions and credentialing holds, as well as managing several Provider Enrollment Work Queues within Epic. 



·        Associates degree required


·        At least 3 years of experience in Provider Enrollment is required.


Other Skills Required:

·         Strong attention to detail is a must. 

·         Must excel in a fast-paced, task-oriented environment

·         Working knowledge of healthcare and enrollment software is highly preferred.

·         Demonstrated knowledge of provider enrollment, state regulations, and payer requirements is strongly preferred.

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills, well developed analytic and organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines are required.

·         Advanced skills in Excel and Word are preferred. 

·         Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage stress appropriately are a must.

·         Must be able to work as part of a cohesive team.

Position is for an enthusiastic candidate who would be eager to set the practice up, uphold connections, organize several projects , handle human resources, work with the EHR system (Athena) and the billing, liaise the different medical activities of the provider, organize cover and many other activities.   • Position Summary
    • The Contracting Manager will be actively involved in the development and negotiation of agreements, amendments and other related documents between the MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and Payers and between the MaineHealth ACO and contracting providers (Medical and Behavioral HealthCare providers and facilities). The Contracting Manager will assist in financial modeling related to contracting as needed. The Contracting Manager will assist in the identification and resolution of payer issues impacting MaineHealth ACO members. Further, the Contracting Manager will participate in communications and education to MaineHealth ACO members regarding Payer agreements.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
