Practice manager of a starting physician's practice in Pittsfield Maine. Certification and experience are required. Position is for an enthusiastic candidate who would be eager to set the practice up, uphold connections, organize several projects , handle human resources, work with the EHR system (Athena) and the billing, liaise the different medical activities of the provider, organize cover and many other activities. Keep abreast with the tax and tax deductibles, the different income sources of the practice, the costs of the practice, the building etc. Also required is to be the personal assistant of the provider.

Mid Coast Medical Group is seeking a Practice Manager for our Rheumatology/Nephrology practice.  Responsible for the leadership of this 4-provider shared practice, the Practice Manager furthers the mission of Mid Coast Medical Group by providing high quality services to patients and colleagues.  This role is responsible for leading a team to ensure optimum performance of the daily operations of the departments of Rheumatology and Nephrology, two growing specialties within our community.

  • Position Summary
    • The Contracting Manager will be actively involved in the development and negotiation of agreements, amendments and other related documents between the MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and Payers and between the MaineHealth ACO and contracting providers (Medical and Behavioral HealthCare providers and facilities). The Contracting Manager will assist in financial modeling related to contracting as needed. The Contracting Manager will assist in the identification and resolution of payer issues impacting MaineHealth ACO members. Further, the Contracting Manager will participate in communications and education to MaineHealth ACO members regarding Payer agreements.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in managed care or related healthcare field.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and to collaborate with teams of individuals in diverse settings.
    • Ability to manage conflict, stress and multiple simultaneous work demands in an effective, professional manner.
    • Ability and willingness to self-motivate, prioritize, and be willing to change processes to improve effectiveness efficiency. Adapts to changing organizational priorities.
    • Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office.
