Practice Administrator – Ophthalmic Medical Practice & Ambulatory Surgery Center

Position Overview:

Riverside Eye is seeking a skilled and strategic Practice Administrator to lead our busy ophthalmology practice. We are the sole ophthalmic care provider for a two-county region (population ~180,000), with two ophthalmologists, one optometrist, and a growing demand for advanced surgical care.

This is a senior-level leadership role responsible for overseeing clinical operations, financial performance, compliance, facilities, and staff development. The administrator will work directly with physician owners to drive performance, culture, and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the practice across all departments, and ASC business operations.
  • Manage financial operations: budgeting, forecasting, revenue cycle
  • Ensure CMS billing compliance and legal/regulatory adherence
  • Supervise HR, including recruitment, training, and culture initiatives
  • Manage IT, medical equipment, and practice assets
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers
  • Oversee facilities in coordination with a physician-owned real estate company
  • Lead marketing, outreach, and referral relationship development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years in medical practice management – OR – 10+ years of demonstrated success in practice or ASC administration
  • Proven background in financial management and healthcare compliance
  • Experience with ASC operations strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with ophthalmology a plus though not required
  • General knowledge of IT, equipment, building systems, and vendor coordination
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills
